I chose this scripture to be the title because it basically is the verse I go to anytime I am making a decision.
The verse says: "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
When we plan our lives out, day by day, we think we know what is best for us. Then when things don't go the way we thought they would, we don't take it well usually. But in reality, that is not exactly how it operates under the promise of God. He has this perfect, intricately designed plan for each individual person. Truth is, if we could see it from His perspective, the big picture, we wouldn't choose to have even a single detail any other way.
I am not about to try and convince you to rush Kissimee. I am not about to tell you what is good about us. I am telling you, JESUS KNOWS when you don't, no matter what tribe you end up in. So Pref Day is the day everyone is just in a frenzy over. Not to mention Squeal day-finding out if you got the tribe you wanted or if you are with all of your friends.
STOP WORRYING. It's going to be awesome anyways! Regardless of what order you write down on that pref card, the Lord is going to put you exactly where you need to be. Which tribe needs you, too. He is going to use you and grow you in wherever you end up. If it's your first or if it's your last, IT'S EXACTLY WHERE YOU SHOULD BE. Walk in with the mindset that He is in control, and you aren't!
Some of you know exactly where you want to end up. But be open minded. Pray before you go in that no matter where you are, you will meet some incredible girls. There is some awesome things about each tribe, and you'll find out!
Then there are girls who have no clue, and are literally just wishing to skip pref day and be put in a tribe by someone else come Saturday. For y'all, just know that whatever you pref, wherever God gives you a peace about...it's still going to be awesome.
Know that the actives of each tribe-regardless of if you love them or think they're the worst-are praying for YOU tomorrow. That YOU get to see the work the Lord is going to do in your life through the new sisters you get on Saturday. Color is not a thing. Pink, blue, red, or green. The Lord sees BEAUTY in all of these girls, and in YOU. YOU are treasured, loved, and highly valued. He wants nothing less than the best for you.
So future new babies- I love each of you without even knowing your name or who you are. Simply because, I remember being in your shoes just a year ago. KT has changed my college experience. I have the best friends in KT, I feel like I belong there. Now being in a tribe is not all God can use. Rush is not your identity. Don't make it. JESUS is your identity and Him alone. He defines you, not a tribe. A tribe is just something in my life that He has used to encourage and grow my walk through my wonderful sisters. But it doesn't define who I am. You'll see that your identity is something that can't be changed by a tribe or an organization or being on CAB or meeting your boyfriend. It is about watching Our Savior strategically work in our lives through what our hearts learn to love. And it's super beautiful.
So pref, babies, pref. And watch Him soar and work in your life. And see that HIS ways are so much higher and more perfect than what we can imagine,
